Market Survey

Farmers’ Opinion

“We are four brothers doing farming in a progressive way. We have bought tractors, power tillers, mini-tractors, and electric spray pumps to simplify farming operations. Most of the family members are directly engaged in farming.  Our sons are not having enough physical strength to carry out day-to-day farm activities.  The unavailability of full-time labourers makes farm activities challenging when required.

The time has come for such robotic equipment which will reduce the burden on the farmer and complete the farm activities in time. Future generation will get benefits from such equipment.”

Average Farmland Holding: 25 acres,  Place: Aurnal, Dist: Kolhapur State: Maharashtra

“I work in the Tehsil office and do farming with the help of labourers. I can borrow such equipment for my farm activities of weeding, spraying and cutting as similar as a drone rental service.”

Average Farmland Holding: 5 acres,  Place: Nool, Dist: Kolhapur State: Maharashtra

“I am farming my hereditary land for the last 30 years. I bought a power tiller so that it would solve the labour problem but I sold it because it was giving so much vibration to the upper shoulder and chest.

In my opinion, if you cultivate 5 acres of land with proper planning and execution farming is profitable. In next few years people will migrate from cities to villages to do farming.”

“I solve the labour shortage problem by paying a little more money over the market rates. I can afford this practice when I am in need because completion of activities on time is of prime importance to me. In the next 5 years, the labour shortage will make farming difficult for large farmers like I am.

Robotics solution will solve many problems for all of us.”

Average Farmland Holding: 75 acres,  Place: Dangwada, Dist: Ujjain State: Madhya Pradesh (River Chambal Drainage)

“I am a shared cultivator. Land lord lives in Kolhapur city and they supply all the chemical and seed inputs and I provide my labor and we share the produce. They do not invest in the farm equipment but we need such products to save ourselves from the fatigue, pain and drudgery.”

“We are group of  farmers doing farming as a only profession. We help each other out in all possible farm activities. At present main challenge is hire labourer for day to day tasks. And present youth is migrating to cities for non farm jobs and they do not participate in farming. This is helpless situation for us.

This robotic equipment if solves the problem of weeding, spraying and harvesting note our mobile number we will buy one and dont worry about the price. We need this.”

Average Farmland Holding: 30 acres,  Place: Raverkhedi, Dist: Khargone State: Madhya Pradesh (River Narmada Drainage)

“I am the first farmer in my region to grow pomegranate orchids. For that, I have bought a minitractor, spray gun and drip system. I am a small farmer and I am alone doing all possible farm activities. This is laborious but I need to manage labour costs.

I can afford robotic solutions on rent. I would love to see this equipment working.”

Average Farmland Holding: 5 acres,  Place: Deola, Dist: Nashik State: Maharashtra (River Godavari Drainage)

“I am 10th-passed farmer and this is my only source of livelihood. I too have dreams as same as salaried person; I want to take my family to vacation and roam around malls in the city. But non completion of activities in time and the high cost of chemical inputs takes my profit away. Mechanical processes are not affordable now. Earlier I owned pair of bulls but now I am relying on chemical inputs and costly labourers.

If this product comes into the market then I definitely consider buying one, anyway my small tractor’s life is coming to an end.”

Average Farmland Holding: 10 acres,  Place: Khed-Shivapur, Dist: Pune State: Maharashtra

“I have been farming grapes orchards for the last 30 years. A lot has changed in these years. Chemical inputs have grown tremendously, labour cost has shot up through the roofs. I am aware that chemical inputs have more bad effects on farmers lives but mechanical operations are not affordable and not effective at present. To increase my productivity I have bought two mini tractors, and air blast sprayers but the labour shortage challenge, fatigue, drudgery and pain persist.

In a year 50-60 days of spraying is required and it comes with its own set of problems such as direct chemical exposure, soil health degradation and many more.

I do not want to transfer any of these troubles to my son who wants to do farming. This particular innovation, in my opinion, will definitely help my son.”

Average Farmland Holding: 20 acres,  Place: Nifad, Dist: Nahsik State: Maharashtra (River Godavari Drainage)

“My primary profession is farming and I work on a simple principle which is do things in the proper and planned way whether it is small or big. I own all the possible required farm equipment ranging from tractors, reapers, cultivators, rotavators, electricity generators, pump sets etc. I do not like to borrow things. I maintain all this equipment so that they will work on demand.

Surely fatigue, pain and drudgery is the main concern for farmers this gets worse when a labour shortage happen. Robotic equipment to assist the farmers is required.”

Average Farmland Holding: 50 acres,  Place: Ambachandan , Dist: Mhow State: Madhya Pradesh (River Narmada Drainage)

“I am a retired agriculture professor (30+ years experience of practicing agriculture and teaching) and visiting farmer. I believe that farmers’ profit will only be increased when losses are lowered due to the non-completion of farm operations timely.

Work from home concept is required in farming too. The robotic equipment should strive to provide the solution such that farmers can complete all their operations at the right time, at the right place and at the right rate.”
